Injectables
What Are The Benefits Of Injectables?
Injectables are used to smooth the skin, create contours, and enhance features. They are made with Hyaluronic Acid, which occurs naturally in the body, and are made by several different companies (Juvederm, Restylane, Revanesse, Revance (Teoxane), Merz). During your consultation, we’ll discuss your aesthetic goals and decide which filler is best for you.
What Should I Expect?
When appropriate, we’ll numb your skin with a topical agent to minimize any pain in sensitive areas of the skin. Most injectables have numbing already built in to make the procedure comfortable. You may have some temporary redness after your injections, but that usually goes away within a few hours. Results can usually be seen immediately after treatment!
You may have some swelling that will diminish over the following week, and you’ll receive some strategies for helping with that when you are back at home.
How Long Will My Results Last?
As a general rule, your results will last 6-12 months, but they will vary with the injectables and the place it was used.
Any Precautions?
- No exercise for 24 hours
- Sleeping with your head slightly elevated may help with swelling
- Please use your cell-phone on speaker
Where Are Injectables Used?
Cheeks, temples, lips, jawline, nasolabial folds under eye
What is Kybella?
Kybella is a synthetic form of Deoxycholic Acid. Your body makes Deoxycholic Acid, which aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected, Kybella can permanently destroy fat cells. The FDA has approved the use of Kybella to treat fullness under the chin or the submental fat pad.
Is Kybella right for me?
A consultation and examination with Dr. Nieman is the best way to know. If you are at an ideal body weight, are bothered by the fullness or fat pad under your chin, and do not want a surgical procedure, Kybella may be the right choice for you.
What is the treatment like?
Kybella injections take about 15-20 minutes. After the Kybella treatment you may notice swelling, bruising or numbness under your chin. You will receive post-care instruction, and that includes specific timing for icing during the first 24 hours.
How many treatments should I expect?
Expect a series of 3 treatments (average number of treatments 3-6). Cost per vial is $600. Treatments should be spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
